Kathleen A. Berger, MD, CWSP, earned her medical degree at the Universidad de Guadalajara in Mexico in 2009. She then relocated to the Bronx, New York, where she completed her General Surgery internship at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in 2016 and her General Surgery residency at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in 2018. Dr. Berger also completed a fellowship at Queens New York Hospital in 2020. After practicing for several years in Houston, she joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Family Medicine department in January 2026. Dr. Berger is bilingual in English and Spanish and is also board certified by the American Board of Wound Management.
Dr. Berger practices medicine with the goal of helping people and easing her patients’ suffering. She offers primary care to patients of all ages, including preventive and geriatric care. Dr. Berger also diagnoses and manages chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, heart failure, thyroid disease, and more. As a Certified Wound Specialist Physician, she specializes in management of wounds and infections, and she performs minor in-office procedures such as knee injections and small abscess incision and drainage. Dr. Berger’s favorite aspect of being a doctor is seeing her patients improve their health with the right treatment.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Berger builds trust with her patients by listening patiently to them and treating them with kindness as she would her own family. She also views her role as a way to make a difference in the world.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Berger enjoys spending time with her family, watching films, and practicing Jiu-Jitsu.
