Spring Expansion

Kelsey-Seybold Opens Expanded Area of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center Increasing Access to Specialty Services, Radiation Therapy

HOUSTON (Feb. 23, 2023) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic today opened the 40,000-square-foot expansion of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center, located at 15655 Cypress Woods Medical Drive. The expansion of Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center builds on Kelsey-Seybold’s long-standing presence in the community and allows for significant growth of specialty care, including the addition of Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and Behavioral Health, as well as added capacity in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary and Dermatology.

“Kelsey-Seybold Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center has deep roots in this community, and as the area is growing, we are growing with it and adding new services that enhance the quality and convenience our patients expect and deserve,” said Cecilia Fowler, Kelsey-Seybold senior director, Ambulatory Care, North Region. “Quality patient care that is convenient to home and work is central to maintaining the health of our community, and we are proud to expand on our services to meet the growing needs of the people we care for.

As part of this expansion, Kelsey-Seybold adds a second Radiation Oncology location to its suite of cancer services available throughout its Houston-area based health system. Patients also have access to an expanded complement of laboratory services, as well as diagnostic services including onsite PET-CT in the newly built expansion for radiation therapy, along with other newly upgraded diagnostic units, including MRI and CT located in Radiology Services.

“The North Houston community has grown so much over the past 15 years, as has the need for more specialized cancer care. Patients living on the north side of town will now have convenient access to Radiation Oncology services here,” said Bobby Lester, senior director, Cancer Services, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. “Radiation treatment often lasts several weeks and, in many cases, requires daily treatment. We believe offering these new services at Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center will alleviate at least one stress for our Cancer Center patients.”

The expansion of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center is part of Kelsey-Seybold’s five-year expansion plan to place primary care clinics no more than 10 minutes away, and larger specialty campuses no more than 20 minutes away, from those living in Houston and the surrounding areas. As part of this system-wide growth plan, two more Radiation Oncology sites will be added within the next 15 months – at Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center in Sugar Land and Clear Lake Medical and Diagnostic Center in Webster.

Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center now has a total of 172,000 square feet of clinical, diagnostic, and treatment space, including a 12,000-square-foot expansion of the first floor and a new 28,000-square-foot addition on the south side of the building. This expansion opening follows other recent clinic and campus openings north of I-10, including Memorial Villages Campus, Greater Heights Clinic, and Fairfield Clinic.

“Kelsey-Seybold Clinic has built a name for itself around making quality care more accessible. We believe that patients who have fewer barriers to care are more willing to engage in their healthcare,” said Muhammed Nathani, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.G., co-managing physician, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center. “With this expansion now open, we’re making it easier for our patients to get high-quality care that is available to them close to home and work.”
