It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal: Improve quality of life for the individual and family. Our Supportive Medicine team of doctors, nurses, social workers and other specialists work together with the patient’s primary care doctor and specialists involved in their care to provide an added layer of support. The team’s focus is on enhancing symptom control, care coordination, management of disease progression and quality of life.Supportive Medicine is appropriate for patients at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and may be provided along with curative treatment.
