From gastroesophageal reflux to colonoscopy, our gastroenterologists are equipped to handle all of your gastroenterology needs. Some of the many services we provide include: Colonoscopy: Accesses the lower intestine (also known as the large intestine or colon) and is the procedure often performed in the screening for colon polyps and cancer. Upper endoscopy: Allows the visualization of the esophagus, stomach and upper part of the small intestine. Capsule endoscopy: Involves the capture and interpretation of images as a “pill” camera travels through the small intestine. Esophageal motility test: Placement of a thin, flexible catheter into the esophagus through the nose to help determine the cause of swallowing difficulties or chest pain, or prior to esophageal surgery. Esophageal pH testing: Measures the pH or amount of acid that flows into the esophagus from the stomach during a 24-hour period to help identify the cause of such symptoms as heartburn and chest pain, chronic cough, asthma or other throat problems in connection with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Our gastroenterologists, under the direction of Gastroenterology Chief Ned Snyder, M.D., M.A.C.P., A.G.A.F., provide preventive care, consultations and treatment at Kelsey-Seybold locations throughout the Greater Houston area. Diagnostic procedures, such as colonoscopies, are performed on an outpatient basis in our accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center at the Main Campus near the Texas Medical Center, and our Endoscopy Suite at the Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center.
