Dr. Balaguru Ravi earned his Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at Manipal University in 2011. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine, Woods, Antigua and Barbuda in 2014. Dr. Ravi completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Joseph Mercy – Ann Arbor in Michigan in 2018 and his Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Buffalo in New York in 2019.
Dr. Ravi has worked in a variety of positions over the course of his medical career, most recently as team physician for the Buffalo Sabres professional hockey team from 2018 to 2019, team physician for all athletics at the University of Buffalo from 2018 to 2019, and Internal Medicine/Sports Medicine physician for Detar Healthcare Systems – Victoria, Texas, from 2019 to 2020. He joined Kelsey-Seybold in October 2020 where he provides Orthopedics care for patients 16 and older.

Dr. Ravi is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Physicians of Indian Origin, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.
Hobbies and Interests
Dr. Ravi enjoys spending time with his family and friends, staying physically active by going on hikes and playing basketball, traveling, and enjoying the food scene in Houston.
Fun Facts
The best advice Dr. Ravi has received is that “happiness stems from doses of gratitude, love, and living in the present moment.”
The most interesting place he has visited is the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he was able to experience the local culture by eating authentic Malaysian food.
Not everyone knows this about Dr. Ravi, but he did a TEDx talk in October 2019 about exercise therapy for concussion treatment.
