About Dr. Yoav Kaufman

Dr. Yoav Kaufman is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, as well as a hand surgeon. He specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, body, and extremities. Dr. Kaufman has had the privilege of training with the nation’s leading experts in Plastic and Orthopedic Surgery while attending Baylor College of Medicine and Stanford University. These experiences have shaped him both as a clinician and surgeon, allowing him to compile a diverse set of skills to offer his patients the results they desire.

Dr. Kaufman received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, during which he was twice awarded the “Outstanding Medical Student” award in Plastic Surgery. While in medical school, he completed a gap year for clinical research in Plastic Surgery and published extensively in the premier journals of the field. Dr. Kaufman was accepted to the Baylor College of Medicine Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency, where he trained with faculty from leading institutions such as MD Anderson, Houston Methodist Hospitals, Memorial Hermann and CHI-St. Luke’s. He went on to complete his training with a specialized fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Stanford University. At Stanford, he further expanded his skill set to include functional reconstruction of the hand, microsurgery, and complex fracture management.

Dr. Kaufman’s clinical interests include reconstructive breast surgery, breast augmentation, breast lift, mommy makeovers, facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, liposuction, body contouring after weight loss, and non-surgical procedures.

Dr. Kaufman received his bachelor’s degree in business honors with a minor in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. During his college years, he co-founded a nonprofit organization to immerse students in the Ugandan culture in order to understand the country’s plight against the AIDs pandemic. Inspired by this experience, he co-founded another organization that adopted an impoverished slum in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and raised funds and medical resources for the community’s health needs. These experiences further strengthened his resolve to pursue his passion for medicine and seek opportunities for global health initiatives.

Dr. Kaufman has authored over 30 peer review articles, two book chapters, and eight surgical videos covering topics throughout the field of plastic surgery and hand surgery. He continues to work with residents and medical students at Baylor College of Medicine.
