What to Expect During Your Visit and New Face Mask Guidelines for Patients

Patient Screening Process:

You may be asked several pre-screening questions by phone and again upon entry into the clinic before your visit.
The questions may include:

  • Do you have a fever?
  • Do you have a cough?
  • Do you have difficulty breathing?
  • Are you living with someone who has COVID-19 or is suspected of having COVID-19?

  • Your temperature will be checked with a non-contact thermometer when you arrive at the Clinic for your appointment.

Preparing for Your Appointment:

To protect other patients and your Kelsey-Seybold providers and staff, we ask all patients to please follow these new guidelines:

  • Wear a mask or cloth face protection and keep it on for the duration of your visit.  If you don't have a mask, we'll provide one.
  • Minimize the number of caregivers or family members who accompany you during your visit.
  • Limit the number of personal items you bring into the clinic.

We're limiting our in-person schedules, which means fewer patients at one time in lobbies with seating separated for social distancing.

Please proceed directly to your department waiting area and strongly consider using our convenient online eCheck-in process through the MyChart or MyKelsey app as you arrive onsite at the clinic.

Processes in Place for Kelsey-Seybold’s Healthcare Workforce

Face Masks: Our healthcare providers will be wearing face masks and may be using other personal protective equipment, including gloves, gowns, other face protection, and eyewear.

Screening: All Kelsey-Seybold personnel arriving at any Kelsey-Seybold location are screened upon entry, including having their temperatures taken on a daily basis.

Important Information for Children with In-Clinic Appointments

In-Person Appointments are available for pediatric patients. Call our 24/7 Contact Center at 713-442-0000 to schedule an appointment with a Kelsey-Seybold Pediatrician at a Clinic location near you.

Preparing for your Child's appointment:
  • Our Pediatrics care team will be wearing face masks, so please let your children know in advance.
  • All family members will be screened, and their temperature taken upon entry into the clinic.
  • We ask that you and your children older than 2 wear a mask (homemade face masks or other cloth masks are fine) when you arrive at the clinic for your scheduled appointment. Please limit the number of family members attending the visit to as few as possible.
  • Proceed directly to your Pediatrics waiting area. We strongly suggest you consider using our convenient online eCheck-in process through the MyChart or MyKelsey app as you arrive onsite at the clinic.

To reduce exposure, seating will be spread out and appointment schedules reduced to restrict the number of individuals in our pediatric areas. Please follow social distancing guidelines during your visit.
