Melinda Chai, MD, attended the University of Queensland Ochsner Medical School in Brisbane, Australia, obtaining her medical degree in 2019. She relocated to Texas, completing her OB/GYN residency at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in Houston in 2024. Dr. Chai joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2024.
Having grown up in southeast Asia where healthcare was a rare commodity, Dr. Chai wanted to become a physician to provide care to those who need it. As an OB/GYN, she strives to provide comprehensive care and education for women at all life stages, from puberty to pregnancy and menopause. In addition to providing well woman care, Dr. Chai works with patients on health concerns such as abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, sexually transmitted infections, hormonal therapy, and menopause symptoms. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecology, high-risk and low-risk obstetrical care, and family planning. Dr. Chai’s favorite part of practicing medicine is being a part of her patients’ lives for both the difficult and exciting times in their lives.
