Dr. Lothian earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark in 2001 and completed her internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 2005.

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)
Dr. Lothian has been recognized with a presti​gious national certification for excellence in carin​g for diabetic patients, awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Certification through NCQA’s national Diabetes Recognition Program comes after a comprehensive, individualized review process to verify a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Dr. Amy Lothian has been nationally recognized by the NCQA for excellence in diabetes care.​
In addition, Dr. Lothian has received the following awards and honors:
  • Flight Medicine Commendation for action above the call of duty.  Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss., 2007
