Accepting New Patients?

Home Is Where The Heart Is

"I rely on my patients to follow my instructions at home," Dr. Mortazavi says. "Sometimes they don’t. Our Lipid Clinic enables us to follow our patients’ treatment at home with a wide variety of care and intervention. It also helps us support our patients to make sure they do what needs to be done."

What I Believe

"Angioplasty is not a cure," he says. "Until you remove the risk factors that first got you in trouble, the disease will progress in other areas. Simple lifestyle modifications, like quitting smoking, lowering your cholesterol, controlling blood pressure, exercise and weight reduction are critical."

The Future

"I am very hopeful about the future," Dr. Mortazavi says. "Through genetic manipulation and risk factor management, we may actually be able to prevent the number one killer in the United States. These are exciting times!"

When people are ill, they are at their most vulnerable. If I am able to reverse the process and make an impact on their lives, there is no greater reward than that.
