Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Pasadena Expansion Complete, Adding 17,000 Square Feet and Increasing Access to Quality Healthcare
HOUSTON (Sept. 27, 2021) – On Sept. 27, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic opened a 17,000-square-foot expansion of its Pasadena Clinic on Beltway 8 near Crenshaw Road. This expansion, as well as the recent or upcoming clinic openings in Baytown, North Channel, and Gulfgate, makes Kelsey-Seybold the first major healthcare provider with locations that surround the Ship Channel and its employment base to the north, south, east, and west. Additionally, because many residents continue to live in the area after retirement, there is a growing need for specialty services that Kelsey-Seybold can better meet because of the Pasadena Clinic's expansion.
"Many of our Pasadena Clinic patients are generational. We've witnessed patients grow up and bring their children here for care. We hope to continue developing these kinds of relationships with all of our patients," said Anita Udayamurthy, M.D., managing physician, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Pasadena. "The expansion of our clinic will help us reach more Pasadena residents by adding capacity to primary care, as well as new specialties and services we haven't offered here before. Our enduring commitment and loyalty to this community is validated by our continued growth."
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic has a longstanding presence in the Pasadena area, having opened its original 15,000-square-foot Pasadena Clinic in 1984. In 2013, the current two-story clinic was opened and more than doubled the size of the original location. With the expansion complete, Kelsey-Seybold's Pasadena Clinic grows from 33,000 to over 50,000 square feet.
Prior to the expansion, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Pasadena offered specialty rotations in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics, Spine, Endocrinology, and Chiropractic services. With the addition of clinic space, the Pasadena clinic nearly doubles its medical team to 27 providers, adding additional rotations in adult primary care, Pulmonary Medicine, Neurology, OB/GYN, and Dermatology with plans to also add new rotations in Surgery, Podiatry, Urology, and Rheumatology.
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – Pasadena will also build out a second ultrasound room, a third X-ray room, and a second procedure room. Patients will also have the added convenience of an on-site sleep consult room and a pulmonary testing lab. The clinic will continue to offer 3D mammography, DEXA, CT, MRI, EKG, echocardiography, and cardiac stress testing.
"Four decades of continued growth, both in the number of patients we see annually and in the physical space used as a hub for care in this community, is an impressive trajectory for any establishment," said Victor Simms, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P., chairman of the Clinical Planning Committee, and chief of Internal Medicine, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. "For those living in Pasadena, Deer Park, and La Porte, this expansion with new specialties and services is a clear demonstration of our commitment to this vibrant community."
The Pasadena Clinic expansion was designed by Kirksey Architecture. Gamma Construction was the general contractor for this project.
