Valeria A. Orue-Quintana, MD, is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who attended Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua, earning her medical degree in 2006. She then relocated to Bayshore, New York, where she completed the Hofstra School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program in 2013. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dr. Orue-Quintana joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in March 2026 after serving as both a physician and assistant professor at the McGovern School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for more than a decade.

In practicing medicine, Dr. Orue-Quintana finds purpose in serving others, working with science, and building long-term relationships while helping patients navigate complex health issues and improve their quality of life. As a primary care physician, she treats a wide range of conditions from acute issues like infections, minor injuries, and respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms to chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and mental health concerns. Dr. Orue-Quintana also focuses on women’s health, preventive care, screenings, and health maintenance for patients of all ages. Her favorite part of being a physician is providing continuity of care within relationships that develop over time as she gets to know her patients and help them understand their health.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Orue-Quintana understands that trust begins when patients feel informed and supported through communication, consistency, and honesty. She takes the time to understand her patients’ goals and concerns and then partners with them in creating plans of care that are holistic and patient centered.

When Dr. Orue-Quintana is away from the clinic, she enjoys staying active with exercise, which helps her recharge. She also loves spending quality time with her family.
