Sushanth Gouni, MD, earned his medical degree in 2019 at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He remained there to complete his Internal Medicine residency in 2022. Dr. Gouni then completed a lymphoma fellowship and a Hematology and Oncology fellowship, both at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified hematologist and oncologist in July 2026.
Dr. Gouni wanted to be at the forefront of medicine as a physician after witnessing the incredible resilience of patients and learning about the rapid evolution of cancer treatments. As a general hematologist and medical oncologist, he treats a broad spectrum of solid tumors and blood disorders. Dr. Gouni's clinical interests include precision oncology and novel cellular therapies. His favorite part of practicing medicine is being able to offer real hope by translating the latest, cutting-edge medical breakthroughs directly into personalized care that helps his patients navigate their diagnoses with confidence.

With a priority on shared decision making, Dr. Gouni ensures his patients fully understand their diagnoses and treatment options and works with them to design individualized treatment plans that align with their unique needs, values, and life goals. Dr. Gouni believes in delivering evidence-based therapies in a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take active roles in their treatment journeys.
