Steven Hlozek, MD, began his career as a registered nurse prior to earning his medical degree in 2023 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. He remained at UT Health San Antonio to complete its Internal Medicine residency program in 2026. Dr. Hlozek joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Internal Medicine department in August 2026.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hlozek has devoted himself to practicing wholistic and preventive medicine — and as an internist, he offers comprehensive, coordinated primary care for adult patients. Outside of preventive medicine such as well checks and routine screenings, Dr. Hlozek provides treatment for acute conditions like minor injuries, joint pain, respiratory illness, and more. He also specializes in the management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension to help patients improve their long-term health, preserve function, and reach their health goals. Dr. Hlozek’s favorite part of practicing medicine is having the opportunity to make a positive difference in his patients’ lives and his community.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Hlozek gets to know his patients beyond their health histories and medical needs by learning about their life stories, interests, and personal goals — and how these aspects of their unique lives relate to their individual health goals. With a patient and kind approach, he strives to motivate every patient to adopt a healthy lifestyle, which he considers to be the most powerful tool in the preservation of health.
