Fernando Gomez-Rivera, MD, completed his Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry with honors at Marid College in Mexico City in 1990. He went on to complete his medical degree at La Salle University in Mexico City in 1996. In 2003, he completed a residency in General Surgery at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition in Mexico City. He went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. He completed a second fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2007. In 2012, he completed a second residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, he treats patients of all ages for conditions of the ears, nose, and throat; head and neck cancer; and sleep apnea surgery. His clinical interest includes sleep apnea surgery and head and neck surgery. Dr. Gomez-Rivera is specially trained to provide treatment for CPAP intolerant patients via upper airway stimulation therapy and other surgical options for the management and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
