Crystal Nwagwu, MD, MHA, earned her medical degree in 2014 at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. She then relocated to Texas to complete her Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2017. Dr. Nwagwu joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified primary care physician in September 2025.
Dr. Nwagwu was driven to become a doctor by a deep desire to help members of her community live fuller, healthier lives by providing compassionate care, addressing health disparities, and empowering individuals through education and support. As a Family Medicine physician, she provides comprehensive primary care for all ages, offering well checks and treating conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, hyperlipidemia, musculoskeletal disorders, thyroid disorders, obesity, and acute illnesses like the common cold, sinusitis, flu, and more. Dr. Nwagwu is especially interested in women's health, preventive medicine, and chronic disease management. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is having the opportunity to build relationships with patients.

Dr. Nwagwu prioritizes communicating effectively, showing respect, and being reliable for all her patients. With a holistic, compassionate, and evidence-based approach, she collaborates with her patients to ensure they receive the best personalized care possible.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of caring for patients and spending time with her family, Dr. Nwagwu likes to try new recipes and keep fit with exercise — especially weight training and running.
