What We Believe

At Kelsey-Seybold we believe that a comprehensive analysis and understanding of both clinical measure and the patient experience provide the perfect environment for continuous quality improvement.

The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) is a tool used by most HMO and PPO plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.

By providing objective, clinical performance data measure against a detailed set of measurement criteria.

“On a regular basis, Kelsey-Seybold collects data to determine how we measure up against national standards for evidence-based care because we care what our patients think of their care and the overall quality of services they receive from us. These ongoing measurements help us to continually improve. As an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) we utilize tools such as the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) to assess the care and service quality on various levels of our care delivery model. The most recent HEDIS results indicate that we have met or exceeded standards in the critical measures of healthcare. Our programs encourage screenings, management of chronic diseases and wellness and they're succeeding, as the HEDIS numbers show.”

– Tony Lin, M.D., F.H.M., Chairman of the Kelsey-Seybold Board of Managers
