Houston Gastroenterologists

Services for Stomach and other Intestinal Disorders

We offer preventive care, consultations and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders at convenient locations throughout Houston.

We also perform diagnostic procedures, such as colonoscopies, on an outpatient basis in our accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center at the Main Campus and our Endoscopy Suite at our Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center.

Among the many procedures we perform are:

  • Colonoscopy: Accesses the lower intestine (also known as the large intestine or colon) and is the procedure often performed in the screening for colon polyps and cancer
  • Upper endoscopy: Allows the visualization of the esophagus, stomach, and upper part of the small intestine
  • Capsule endoscopy: Involves the capture and interpretation of images as a “pill” camera travels through the small intestine
  • Esophageal motility test: Placement of a thin, flexible catheter into the esophagus through the nose to help determine the cause of swallowing difficulties or chest pain, or prior to esophageal surgery
  • Esophageal pH testing: Measures the pH or amount of acid that flows into the esophagus from the stomach during a 24-hour period to help identify the cause of such symptoms as heartburn and chest pain, chronic cough, asthma or other throat problems in connection with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Scheduling a colonoscopy at Kelsey-Seybold is easy. Ask your primary care physician to schedule the colonoscopy for you, or call our 24/7 Contact Center at 713-442-0427 to schedule an appointment with a Kelsey-Seybold gastroenterologist.
