Shirley Fung Wu, PA-C, is a Gastroenterology physician assistant at Kelsey-Seybold. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Arts in biology in 2016 at the University of Texas at Austin. From there, she went on to the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine at Galveston to complete her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2023. Shirley joined Kelsey-Seybold in January 2025.

Taking her grandparents to their medical appointments and advocating for them inspired Shirley to embark on a career in the medical field. She provides thorough, detail-oriented care for patients with symptoms of GERD, constipation, diarrhea, elevated LFTs, abdominal pain, and more. She also provides colorectal cancer screening for preventive care. With an organized approach, Shirley fosters continuity of care, aiming to help patients achieve better health while she compassionately advocates for their overall well-being.

With a priority on clear and compassionate communication, Shirley actively listens to her patients’ concerns so that she can make them feel comfortable and tailor effective treatment plans to meet their individual preferences and needs. By fostering a supportive, safe, patient-centered and collaborative care experience, she ensures they feel fully informed and confident in their decisions.

Shirley’s clinical interests include general Gastroenterology, as well as Otolaryngology and Endocrinology.

Hobbies and Interests

Shirley enjoys spending her free time with family, trying out new restaurants with friends, collecting pins, karaoke, and binge-watching TV shows.
