After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Biological Science in 2000 from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Jia Lee went to New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2004. Dr. Lee is a residency-trained optometrist with a strong ocular disease management and complex contact lens fitting background. Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in 2017, she cared for patients at Cohen’s Fashion Optical in N​ew York from 2005-2007; Dankner Eye Associates in New York from 2005-2007; Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston from 2007-2012; Weill Cornell Medical College in New York from 2012-2016; and Eye Excellence in the Texas Medical Center from 2016-2017.

Dr. Lee is a member of the American Optometric Association.

Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Lee enjoys traveling, reading and volunteering.

Fun Facts

Dr. Lee’s guilty pleasure is browsing Pinterest. Something many people don’t know about her is that she has always wanted to be an artist.

The best advice she has ever received is, “The more you know who you are and what you want, the less you let things upset you.”

The practice of medicine should be a team effort in which the treatment plan is tailored to each patient’s specific medical and psychosocial profile. Patient-centered care built on effective communication and compassion is the core of good medicine.
