Board certified in Internal Medicine, Sherman Huy Nong, MD, is an internist and geriatrician at Kelsey-Seybold. He attended the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine at Galveston, obtaining his medical degree in 2020. He went on to Dallas, Texas, where he completed an internship and Internal Medicine residency at Methodist Health System in 2023. From there, Dr. Nong completed a Geriatric Medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 2024. He then joined Kelsey-Seybold in December 2024.
Dr. Nong was inspired to pursue medicine by his desire to help care for underserved communities. He provides primary care to adult patients, helping them manage their overall health and providing treatment for acute and chronic conditions. These can include bronchitis, arthritis, diabetes, pneumonia, breast cancer, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and more. Dr. Nong most enjoys helping patients heal and live to their fullest potential.
Dr. Nong takes the time to get to know his patients, making them feel at ease with a gentle and warm-natured approach.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Nong enjoys traveling, studying Spanish, reading books, high-stakes gambling, and street racing.
