Cynthia Nguyen, PA-C, first attended the University of Houston to earn her Bachelor of Science in biology in 2020, graduating summa cum laude. She then went to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, completing her Master of Science in physician assistant studies in 2023. Cynthia joined Kelsey-Seybold as a certified physician assistant in Kelsey-Seybold’s Gastroenterology department in August 2025.
For Cynthia, becoming a physician assistant was a way to combine her interest in the human body with her love of caring for others. She sees patients for a variety of gastroenterological concerns, including GERD, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, food intolerances, and other digestive issues. Cynthia also provides colon cancer screening and biologic therapies. Her favorite parts of being a physician assistant are interacting with her patients and their care teams and seeing improvements in her patients’ quality of life.
Philosophy of Care
With an emphasis on patient education and shared decision making, Cynthia compassionately listens to her patients to ensure that they feel heard and understood. She learns as much as possible about her patients to create individualized care plans that cater to their individual needs and preferences.
Hobbies & Interests
Away from work, Cynthia enjoys reading, watching basketball, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and family.
