Adelaide W. During, DO, FAAP, is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, where she earned her medical degree in 2004. She then completed her Pediatrics residency at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2007 in Stony Brook, New York. Dr. During cared for patients in private group practice, hospital, and emergency care settings prior to relocating to Texas to be closer to family. She joined Kelsey-Seybold in August 2023.
Dr. During’s inspiration to become a physician came from an elderly, diabetic uncle who called her “doc” as she accompanied him to many doctor visits. She also wanted to have the opportunity to create comforting and pleasant care experiences for kids. As a board-certified pediatrician, Dr. During provides evidence-based primary care for pediatric patients, including well care and sick care. She is also particularly interested in helping her patients manage asthma and obesity, as well as in providing patient education on when to use antibiotics and when to avoid them. In addition to the intellectual challenge of medicine, Dr. During’s favorite aspects of being a physician are having the opportunity to help others and see children recover from illness and go on to celebrate exciting milestones.
Philosophy of Care
Always approachable, caring, and compassionate, Dr. During builds trust with patients and their parents by engaging them in care decisions, listening to their concerns, and maintaining confidentiality. As she provides culturally sensitive, patient-centered medicine, she treats every patient in a way she would want her own child treated.
Hobbies & Interests
Aside from patient care, Dr. During most enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and church community. She also loves to read, travel, and cook, so she is always trying new recipes.
