A 5-star rating by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is the highest rating possible and a key measure of consistent delivery of quality care. CMS measures plans on enrollee health outcomes, patient experience, access to in-network care, and other factors. According to CMS data, the average star rating for 2024 Medical Advantage plans declined. KelseyCare Advantage maintained its 5-star rating in 2024 for the eighth consecutive year, making it one of the exceptions.

Kelsey-Seybold ambulatory surgery centers passed rigorous inspection by the Accreditation for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), meeting nationally recognized standards for the delivery of quality healthcare based on AAAHC’s independent, external evaluation. While more than 6,700 ambulatory healthcare organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC, not all ASC’s evaluated are granted accreditation. Recertification by AAAHC underscores Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s continued commitment to excellence in patient care through its industry-leading safety protocols and benchmarking.

The Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center, which strives to ensure our patients receive the best possible care, has received a prestigious national certification from the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). ASCO is the world’s leading professional organization for physicians and Oncology professionals caring for people with cancer. The QOPI® Certification Program (QCP) certifies Hematology/Oncology practices that meet the highest quality criteria for cancer care. Data is collected and compared against more than 100 quality measures. With this certification, Kelsey-Seybold is part of an elite group of over 300 QOPI-certified practices across the United States, Brazil, Greece, Pakistan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and Spain.
