Marks of Excellence

The National Committee for Quality Assurance

Since its founding in 1990, the National Committee for Quality Assurance has been a central figure in driving improvement throughout the healthcare system, helping to elevate the issue of healthcare quality to the top of the national agenda.

Watch Leallia King's story to learn how having an NCQA-certified doctor helped her to better manager her diabetes.

Certification through the NCQA is achieved as the result of a comprehensive, individualized review process that verifies a physician's adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Of the more than 100 physicians in Texas who have earned NCQA diabetes certification, Kelsey-Seybold's 84 doctors represent the most for any healthcare provider in the state.

In addition, Kelsey-Seybold physicians have been recognized for providing outstanding cardiovascular and stroke care by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) Heart/Stroke Recognition Program. Kelsey-Seybold physicians account for nearly half of all NCQA-recognized heart/stroke physicians in the state of Texas.

Patients and their family members can be reassured that they are under the high-quality care of a NCQA-certified physician who has been reviewed for adherence to quality standards.

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), having received a three year re-accreditation in 2009.

We have had an unwavering commitment to providing the highest levels of quality care to our patients, and the same high level of conduct in our business practices. Accreditation by AAAHC is proof of this commitment, and signifies that we have met the rigorous standards of a nationally recognized third party.

All Kelsey-Seybold providers meet and exceed the standards of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

This means that our credentialed staff, affiliate and ancillary providers all have primary license verification, background checks through the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB) and the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), and are privileged through both hospital and clinic review.

All of our physicians have completed a medical degree at an accredited university and are licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Kelsey-Seybold Clinic's policy is to consider only physician candidates who have completed a U.S. residency program and are board-certified or board-qualified in their respective medical specialties.
