Sanjay Pallegar, MD, is a board-certified hospitalist who completed his medical degree at JSS Medical College in Mysuru, Karnataka, India, in 1992. He relocated to Texas to complete his internship and Internal Medicine residency at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in 2004. Dr. Pallegar completed additional training in public health at UTHealth as well as in hepatology at St. Luke’s Center for Liver Disease. He joined Kelsey-Seybold in June 2025.
Dr. Pallegar finds it incredibly rewarding to play a role in restoring sick people back to health and back to their lives. As a hospitalist, he specializes in coordinating the care of acutely ill patients with a wide variety of symptoms and conditions requiring hospitalization. Dr. Pallegar has a special interest in providing quality care to patients admitted to the hospital for complications of liver disease. His favorite aspect of being a physician is having the satisfaction of seeing a patient heal from illness.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Pallegar engages his patients in open and frank discussions about their illness and treatment options. He also strives to treat his patients the same way he would treat his family members, with efficient, quality, coordinated care.
Hobbies & Interests
When away from the hospital, Dr. Pallegar enjoys spending most of his time with his family and a little bit of his time on the putting greens.
