Dr. Roy Won is a colorectal surgeon and general surgeon. He earned his Bachelor of Science in biological sciences with a minor in Business at the University of Southern California in 2005. He completed his masters in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., in 2006. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2013.
Dr. Won’s postgraduate training included a General Surgery internship and residency, both at Harbor – UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif. He was also chief resident at Harbor – UCLA Medical Center from 2018 to 2019. Dr. Won completed his fellowship training in Colorectal Cancer Surgery in 2020 at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, N.J. He joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in October 2020.
Dr. Won is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Association for Academic Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Won enjoys spending time with family, watching baseball and college football, and traveling.
Fun Facts
The best advice that Dr. Won has received is to “always do your best.” His guilty pleasure is food – “I love to eat!” As a child, he wanted to be a pro athlete when he grew up.
