Ramya Chockalingam, MD, obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in 2016. After completing an internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2017, she completed her Dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, in 2020. When she was in college, Dr. Chockalingam spent time working in a hospital in India, where she was inspired to pursue medicine by the meaningful impact the doctors had on their patients’ lives. As a dermatologist, she sees patients for preventive skin checks as well as for a variety of skin concerns such as lesions, rashes, eczema, psoriasis, and more. Dr. Chockalingam’s favorite part of patient care is educating and interacting with her patients and then seeing their conditions improve.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Chockalingam views her work with patients as partnerships. She prioritizes learning about her patients and their values before discussing treatment options so that they can best make care decisions together.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chockalingam enjoys yoga, tennis, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
