Pelin Michna, MD, earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso in 2007. After graduating, she went to the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) to complete her Internal Medicine residency in 2010. Bringing 15 years of Hospital Medicine experience with her, Dr. Michna joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in August 2025.

Dr. Michna’s fascination with science and medicine inspired her to become a physician, which she views as an extraordinary way to touch people’s lives and help them improve their health by using science, knowledge, and technology. As a board-certified hospitalist, she provides comprehensive medical care for acutely ill adult patients in the hospital setting. Dr. Michna works as part of comprehensive care teams within the hospital, diagnosing and treating a variety of medical conditions and working closely with other providers to coordinate patient care during hospitalization and upon discharge. Her clinical interests include treating diabetes and its complications, hypertension, infectious diseases, pulmonary and cardiac disorders, and digestive diseases. As a physician, Dr. Michna most enjoys the opportunity for lifelong learning and personal growth, which enable her to make others’ lives better and create a positive impact on their health.

Philosophy of Care

To ensure her patients know their well-being is her always priority, Dr. Michna makes herself available and really takes the time to listen and understand her patients’ needs and concerns. As a detail-oriented and patient-focused hospitalist, she likes being thorough in her patient interaction and documentation and maintains open communication by keeping them fully informed. Dr. Michna’s goal is to ensure that her patients feel heard, taken care of, and supported during their vulnerable times.

Hobbies & Interests

In her free time, Dr. Michna most enjoys fitness activities, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family.
