Neda Tahvilian, OD, is a board-certified optometrist at Kelsey-Seybold. She attended University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2023. She then completed a residency in ocular disease at Minnesota Eye Consultants in 2024. Dr. Tahvilian joined Kelsey-Seybold in November 2024.
Dr. Tahvilian was inspired to become an optometrist by her father. She sees patients for routine eye exams, vision correction, post-operative care, and for the diagnosis and management of various eye conditions, including dry eyes, eye infections, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Her clinical interests include treating patients with ocular disease, especially conditions in the front of the eye. As an optometrist, Dr. Tahvilian enjoys helping patients improve their quality of life by enhancing their vision and eye health. She finds it rewarding to diagnose and treat eye conditions, provide personalized care, and witness the positive impact she can have on her patients’ daily lives.

- Project: ERG and VEP Metrics of Melanopsin Sensitive Ganglion Cells, Impact of Macular Pigment Optical Density, and Cone Contrast Test Predicts Performance on an Occupational Test of Color Vision
- Assisted on various research projects, mainly focused on visual neuroscience. Trained to perform and analyze ERGs and VEP. Performed color vision with the Rabin cone contrast test and quantified macular pigment with the QuantifEYE MPS II. Learned to critically write abstracts and posters, which were presented at optometric conferences.

- Project: XLF and XRCC4 interact with Telomeric Proteins
- Trained to critically evaluate scientific data and effectively communicate and present, both orally and in writing. Performed experiments such as cloning, minipreps, diagnostic cuts, running gel electrophoresis, passing cells, and western blots.
