Maria Zahid Yusuf, MD, attended Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, earning her medical degree in 2015. After completing extensive post-graduate training, she relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, to complete her residency at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in 2025. Dr. Yusuf joined Kelsey-Seybold in September 2025 as a hospitalist and is bilingual in English and Urdu.

Inspired to become a physician by her father, Dr. Yusuf practices hospital-based medicine. Patients see her for care coordination within the inpatient hospital setting, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various conditions such as pain, infections, chronic illnesses, and more. Her clinical interests include managing chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, as well as preventive care and complex diagnostic challenges. Meanwhile, her favorite part of practicing medicine is having the chance to make a real difference in people's lives, whether it's by helping them manage a chronic condition or guiding them through a tough diagnosis.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Yusuf builds trusting relationships with her patients by actively listening, communicating clearly, showing empathy, and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care. With a holistic, patient-centered, and collaborative approach, she focuses on understanding her patients’ unique needs, values, and lifestyles while providing evidence-based treatment.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Yusuf enjoys spending time with her son, traveling, and cooking.
