Jamael Thomas, MD, MPH, held a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston before attending the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he earned his medical degree in 2020. He completed his residency in Dermatology in 2024 at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Thomas joined Kelsey-Seybold’s Dermatology department in August 2024.
Recognizing health disparities and a need to improve access to health care, Dr. Thomas is dedicated to treating every patient with respect and compassion. Using a combination of tailored medical and procedural options, he treats all different types of conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. These include rash, skin lesions, cosmetic concerns, and more. He works with patients who have vitiligo, hidradenitis suppurativa, hair loss, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and skin cancers, as well as those requiring botulinum toxin. His favorite part of practicing medicine is interacting with and learning from his wonderful patients.
