Alexander Yu, MD, attended the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in Galveston, graduating magna cum laude in 2022 with his medical degree. He then completed his internship and Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 2023 and 2025, respectively. Dr. Yu joined Kelsey-Seybold as a board-certified hospitalist in June 2025.
Dr. Yu was drawn into the world of medicine by his silver-screen counterparts Dr. Gregory House and the characters of the sitcom Scrubs. As a hospitalist, he takes his role seriously as he treats adult patients admitted to the hospital for a variety of conditions, such as heart disease, pneumonia, and complications due to chronic conditions. He is especially interested in improving efficiency in care and clinical outcomes. Most of all, Dr. Yu finds it especially rewarding when he has the opportunity to improve quality of life and even save lives through his work.

With a focus on patient-centered care, Dr. Yu strives to give open and honest answers so his patients understand their conditions and treatment options better.
Hobbies & Interests
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Yu enjoys weightlifting, learning AI, watching TV, and playing video games.
