Team Kelsey-Seybold Leads Team Raised Donations with Record Light the Night Campaign
Houston (December 1, 2008) - Kelsey-Seybold Clinic led in team-raised donations for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2008 Light the Night Campaign in Houston and The Woodlands. Team Kelsey-Seybold donated a record $27,000, joining title sponsor Apache Corporation and other corporate sponsors to raise a grand total of $475,000 toward blood cancer research for the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter's 2008 campaign.
"This has been an outstanding campaign, and I am so very proud of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and our employees' passion to make a difference," said Joan Wolochin, social worker and Light the Night coordinator at Kelsey-Seybold. "Despite Hurricane Ike and the current economy, Kelsey-Seybold was out there fighting to raise money and find that cure for all blood cancers."
Clinic employees raised $22,000 through bake sales, theme-party lunches and fundraising walks, and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic made a $5,000 corporate donation. Kelsey-Seybold's fundraising teams have participated with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for nearly 20 years. Kelsey-Seybold has been a corporate donor to Light the Night since 2001 and annually raises an average of $18,000.
