Kelsey-Seybold Welcomes Dermatologist, Dr. Lana H. Hawayek

Houston (August 1, 2014) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Houston's premier community-based physician group for more than 60 years, welcomes Dr. Lana H. Hawayek, a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Her areas of interest include general medical dermatology, including diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, as well as various skin disorders.

She will also perform cosmetic dermatologic procedures including botox injections for wrinkles and excessive sweating; various dermal filler injections; chemical peels; and spider vein treatments, in addition to several other cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Hawayek began her career as the director of Cosmetic Dermatologic and Laser Surgery with University Physicians in Cincinnati, Ohio where she established the cosmetic and laser surgery clinic. Dr. Hawayek also served as an assistant professor of Dermatology at the University of Cincinnati where she oversaw and taught at resident clinics. In 2010, she moved to Houston and joined Memorial Clinical Associates as a board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic dermatologic surgeon.

Dr. Hawayek will see patients at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – The Woodlands at 17350 St. Luke's Way, Suite 200, Medical Arts Center II.

"I believe in treating every patient as an individual – and that no two patients are exactly the same. I tailor each treatment plan to the patient's condition and to their specific lifestyle needs," said Dr. Lana Hawayek, dermatologist at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic – The Woodlands. "I also strive to educate my patients about their skin conditions, treatments and preventing skin problems."

In 1999, Dr. Hawayek earned her medical degree from American University of Beirut in Lebanon and later received an anatomical/surgical pathology diploma at the American University of Beirut Medical Center/Hospital (American University Hospital). In 2001, she began her Internal Medicine residency at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and in 2005 completed a dermatology residency as the chief resident. Dr. Hawayek continued her education with a fellowship at the University of California San Francisco in cosmetic dermatologic surgery and laser completing this program in 2006.
