Kelsey Seybold and Boon Chapman Announce Partnership
KelseyCare administered by Boon-Chapman' health benefits plan is now available to the Houston market
Houston (January 16, 2013) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, the nation's first accountable care organization accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, and Boon-Chapman, a Texas-based third-party administrator of employee benefits, announced a partnership to deliver Kelsey-Seybold's "KelseyCare" health benefits plan to partially self-funded employers in the Greater Houston area with 50 or more covered employees.
KelseyCare has been offered to Houston-area employers for more than six years and delivers high-quality care that is on average 15 to 30 percent lower in total cost when compared to other health plans in the greater Houston area.
"Our organizations are combining expertise to offer a high-quality self-funded health benefits plan to Houston employers," said Spencer Berthelsen, M.D., Chairman and Managing Director, Kelsey-Seybold. "We are pleased to offer KelseyCare to employers through a well-respected third party administrator which has served Texas employers since 1961. Employers will receive high value, improved cost savings and healthcare quality through KelseyCare administered by Boon-Chapman."
As a part of the KelseyCare health benefits plan design, Boon-Chapman will provide employers with member services, claims administration, comprehensive eligibility systems and stop-loss coverage. Additionally, employers will have the opportunity to offer employees a variety of KelseyCare benefit plans including a KelseyCare "Point of Service" plan, a KelseyCare "Deductible" plan and the KelseyCare "No Deductible" plan.
"Our success has been built by providing a very high level of personalized service to meet the needs of our clients," said Kevin Chapman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Boon-Chapman. "Our clients are looking for a plan design that delivers value for the dollars spent and Kelsey-Seybold's KelseyCare benefits plan has an impressive history of achieving real value for employers and members."
The KelseyCare Health Benefits Plan shows consistent high performance on three critical indicators: financial performance, clinical quality and enrollee satisfaction. An independent benchmarking survey of health plans in the Greater Houston area has awarded KelseyCare top scores in clinical quality and financial efficiency for six years. The 2010 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey, which independently surveys health plan members on their experiences with all major health plans in the greater Houston area, has rated KelseyCare among the best in four overall categories: Health Plan, Healthcare, Personal Doctor and Specialist.
This new healthcare option is the ideal solution for employers looking to manage benefits costs while continuing to provide employees with quality healthcare focused on prevention, convenience and affordability. Employers can enroll in KelseyCare administered by Boon-Chapman now for a March 1, 2013 effective date.
Kelsey-Seybold and Cigna Healthcare of Texas will continue their longstanding affiliation to offer KelseyCare powered by Cigna to Houston-based employers on both a fully insured and self-funded basis.
