Professional Background

After finishing coursework at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Wagle completed an Internal Medicine internship and residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, immediately followed by a Cardiology research fellowship at Johns Hopkins. He then completed a Cardiology fellowship at the University of California San Francisco in June 2015.

Professional Associations

Dr. Wagle is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and member of the American Heart Association.

Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Wagle enjoys playing guitar and basketball. He also likes doing things outdoors, such as fishing, hiking and grilling. A violinist, he was part of the Hermann Hospital Music Therapy program in 2005, performed with the Doctor’s Orchestra of Houston from 2004-2008 and was a member of the Houston Youth Symphony from 1994-2000.

Fun Facts

Dr. Wagle’s first job was working a drive-through at McDonald’s in Houston, where he soon was promoted to playing “Ronald” for kids’ birthday parties.

He and his wife spent two weeks in Kasoa, Ghana, where they lived in a small rural village and visited different farming communities, providing basic medical care for local families in need. It turned out to be one of the most memorable and interesting places he has visited.

The best advice he’s ever received was, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”

When illness becomes overwhelming, I’m committed to working with my patients to create and achieve jointly-desired goals. I value strong relationships with my patients so I can become their biggest advocate and, ultimately, their motivation for leading a healthier, happier life.
