Rachel Alford, FNP-C, first completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Nursing in 2014. After caring for patients as a registered nurse for several years, she went on to the University of Texas at El Paso School of Nursing to complete her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021. Rachel also holds a Bachelor of Science in human nutrition from the University of Houston. She joined Kelsey-Seybold in April 2025.
With a grandmother who came from India as a registered nurse for a better life for her family, Rachel became a nurse practitioner for the opportunity to care for others and optimize her patients’ health. Providing primary care for patients of all ages, she offers well checkups and sick care for acute illness and chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia. Rachel’s favorite aspect of patient care is being able to see how the right care plans can help patients feel better and reach their goals.
Philosophy of Care
Rachel tries to be a good listener and makes sure every patient feels heard during their appointments. With a holistic approach to care, she focuses on mental, physical, and emotional aspects of her patients’ health, working together with them to establish care plans that incorporate evidence-based treatment that maximizes their overall health.
Hobbies & Interests
As a sports fan, Rachel enjoys watching all Houston sports teams. She also loves spending quality time with her husband and son. Rachel has been singing at her church since she was a child and still sings on its praise team.
