Professional Background
After completing his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2008, Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi completed his residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary Department of Ophthalmology in Chicago in 2012. He received a cornea/refractive surgery fellowship from the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute in Cleveland, which he completed in 2013. Afterward, Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi worked as a staff physician, clinical associate and assistant professor at both the Cleveland Clinic and Loyola University Medical Center before joining Kelsey-Seybold in September 2016.Professional Associations
Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Nayeb-Hashemi’s favorite book is “The Island” by Aldous Huxley. His guilty pleasure is video games. As a child, he idolized Hakeem Olajuwon and wanted to grow up to become a professional basketball player.
