Lauren H. Chen, MD, attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning her medical degree in 2021. After completing an internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California, in 2022, she returned to Tulane, where she completed her Dermatology residency in 2025. Dr. Chen joined Kelsey-Seybold in August 2025.
Dr. Chen loves that medicine gives her the opportunity to combine human connection with meaningful impact. She treats diverse patient populations for a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including rosacea, acne, eczema, skin cancer, vitiligo, and much more. Dr. Chen also provides well checks and mole screenings to help catch skin cancer early, when it is most treatable. Her favorite part of practicing medicine is how building connections with her patients not only helps guide her in personalizing their care but also reminds her why she loves what she does.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Chen builds trust by listening — truly taking the time to hear her patients’ concerns, answer their questions, and make sure they feel seen and understood. She understands each patient is unique, so she tailors treatments to fit their specific needs, goals, and lifestyles, treating each patient as a whole person, not just their condition, to achieve the best outcomes.
Hobbies & Interests
Away from work, Dr. Chen loves traveling, trying new restaurants, cooking, brewing coffee, visiting art museums, attending symphony orchestra concerts, boxing, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing.
