Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Volunteers Deliver Gifts and Holiday Cheer To Youngest Students at Neighborhood Centers Baker-Ripley Charter School

Houston (December 16, 2016) – On Friday, Dec. 16, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic volunteers – and the most beloved KelseyBear dressed as Santa Claus – visited with children in kindergarten through 3rd grade at Neighborhood Centers Baker-Ripley Charter School, surprising them with Christmas gifts and a special arts and crafts session with KelseyBear at their annual holiday party.

Each year, Kelsey-Seybold employees come together in support of a local children's charity to donate toys and books for the holidays – this year, more than 1,000 toys were collected – the greatest number of toys and books ever collected by clinic staff.

"This has been a rewarding and emotional morning for all of us," said Raquel Sosa-Gonzalez, principal at Baker-Ripley Charter School. "We were blown away by your donation – each of our students received several gifts as a result of the generous donation from Kelsey-Seybold Clinic staff. For some of these children, this is the first experience they have ever had receiving a Christmas gift – and for others – this may be the only gift they receive this year."

More than 200 students received a goody bag filled with age-appropriate toys. Left over donated items will be used at a Neighborhood Centers community event held on January 6 in celebration of Kings Day.

"Kelsey-Seybold Clinic employees have created a community of caring and we recognize the importance of community engagement and have done our best to deliver when there was a need," said David Miller, vice-president of Human Resources at Kelsey-Seybold. "This generous donation would not have been possible without our incredibly thoughtful employees – and we thank Neighborhood Centers Baker-Ripley Charter School for giving us the opportunity to partner with them on our annual toy drive campaign."
