Shmaila Ishaq, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Endocrinology specialist. She earned her medical degree in 1995 from Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. In 2004, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn in New York. She also completed her Endocrinology fellowship in 2011 at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport. Dr. Ishaq practiced as an endocrinologist for 10 years at North Broward Health District in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., before joining Kelsey-Seybold in January 2022.
Dr. Ishaq is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Ishaq enjoys watching movies, traveling and sightseeing, stone painting, and taking photos of nature and family.

Fun Facts

The best advice Dr. Ishaq has ever received is “Be yourself.”

The most exotic/interesting place she has visited is Switzerland. Her guilty pleasure is playing Candy Crush.

Dr. Ishaq wanted to be a doctor even before she’d turned 5.
