Diabetes Care

Your Diabetes Care Team

Although being diagnosed with diabetes can be overwhelming, Kelsey-Seybold wants you to get started on a path toward improving your health each day. Quality diabetes care involves more than just your primary care physician. When it comes to treating diabetes, it takes the comprehensive care of your primary care physician, registered dietitian and, in some cases, an endocrinologist to work together to get the job done. Kelsey-Seybold’s Diabetes Care Team can help manage your diabetes by providing you the resources and guidance to steer you through your treatment plan.

Nationally Recognized Primary Care Physicians

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) have recognized many of our primary care physicians and endocrinologists for providing excellent care for patients with diabetes. In fact, Kelsey-Seybold’s 98 NCQA-certified physicians represent the most of any healthcare provider in the Houston area. To receive NCQA recognition, physicians submit data that demonstrates performance that meets key diabetes care measures. These measures include eye exams, blood pressure tests, nutrition therapy and patient satisfaction, among others. When people with diabetes receive quality care as outlined by these measures, they are less likely to suffer complications such as heart attacks, stroke, blindness, kidney disease and amputations. Kelsey-Seybold has achieved the highest level of NCQA certification for excellence in diabetes care.
