Kelsey-Seybold Main Campus Expansion Update
New medical specialties added at Main Campus, department moves and future plans
Houston (July 1, 2015) – After the successful completion of Kelsey-Seybold's Cancer Center expansion, other areas of the Main Campus building have undergone additions and changes to improve patient care and convenience. In particular, Executive Health and Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery have both expanded into a new, luxurious space on the west side of the building on the third floor in the new wing above the newly expanded Cancer Center.
Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center facilities including Hematology/Oncology and Infusion Therapy moved and expanded into the second floor on the west side of the building. Radiation Therapy and PET CT were added on the first floor as part of the Cancer Center within the west side building expansion.
Other areas which have expanded, moved or have been newly added to the building include:
- Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine are now located the first floor
- Allergy and Dermatology are located in newly renovated space on the first floor
- Neurology is now located the new west side expansion on the fourth floor
- Urology is now in a more expansive area on the fourth floor
In addition to these changes, Kelsey-Seybold – Main Campus will see other additions and expansions in the first quarter of 2016; including the expansion of the clinical laboratory and pharmacy on the first floor. Infectious Disease, Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine and the Cardiology Lab will move from St. Luke's Medical Tower to a specially designed space on the fourth floor of the Main Campus.
A major expansion and renovation of the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Endoscopy adding two OR's, one more procedure room and many more preoperative and post-operative recovery beds is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2016.
"Our Main Campus has truly experienced a transformation over the last 18 months," said Brinda Springfield, Ambulatory Care Director for Kelsey-Seybold's Central Region. "Patients are already reaping the benefits of the investments we've made – and it will only get better. All of these changes will focus attention on improving patient care – that's our priority."
