Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to Build Habitat for Humanity House in Ft. Bend County
Houston (February 11, 2002) – Kelsey-Seybold Clinic today announced that it would fund the construction of a new Habitat for Humanity house in the Fort Bend area. Employee volunteers from Kelsey-Seybold’s First Colony, Quail Valley, Sugar Land, Katy and other area clinics will be trading in their white physician’s coats and uniforms for tool belts, and will be swinging hammers and raising walls as they work together to help build this home.
Kelsey-Seybold’s initial contribution of $40,000 to Habitat for Humanity will fund construction of the home. This project allows employees of Kelsey-Seybold Clinics to reach out to fellow citizens in need. Kelsey-Seybold volunteers will begin construction on the home on March 16, and estimate completion of the project within 9 weeks. Habitat for Humanity invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families who need help.
