Hope Through Grace Luncheon Inspires Awareness About Colorectal Cancer

Houston (February 22, 2006) – On February 22, Hope Through Grace, Inc. (HTG) in partnership with Amerigroup Corp. hosted a luncheon for citizens of the Houston Metroplex Community. The luncheon offered an opportunity to accomplish two key goals: to heighten attention to Colorectal Cancer Awareness; and to give those who attended an in-depth orientation of the Hope Through Grace organization, its programs and services that are available to assist in reducing the incidence and morbidity of colorectal cancer.

Dr. Bernard Levin, M. D., Vice President for Cancer Prevention, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center delivered the key note address and discussed the impact and statistics surrounding colorectal cancer and the populations it effects. Dr. Levin is a distinguished physician, researcher, administrator and policy maker.

After surviving her own bout with colorectal cancer, and witnessing her husband’s experience with the disease, Grace L. Butler, Ph.D., President, CEO and founder of Hope Through Grace and host of the luncheon event, dedicated herself to carrying the awareness message about colorectal cancer to everyone she meets.

“I believe people will share this information with their families, friends and associates and encourage them to adopt more healthy behaviors,” Dr. Butler said. “By so doing, everyone will make a difference in stamping out colorectal cancer.”

Hope Through Grace is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization for cancer prevention, early detection, and cancer survivorship.
