Local Artists Join Cancer Survivors in Creating Paintings and Collages

Local artists will lead about 50 cancer survivors as they create inspirational watercolor paintings and collages as a form of creative expression. Through this therapeutic art exercise, survivors will tell their own unique stories of their individual journeys through paint brushes and canvases. The patients are survivors of differing types of cancers, including breast, colorectal, prostate, melanoma and lymphoma cancers.
The event also marks the third anniversary of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic's Breast Cancer Support Group. This support group, sponsored by the Kelsey Research Foundation, the Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society, meets monthly at Kelsey-Seybold's Main Campus near the Texas Medical Center. It is designed to help women learn to live, understand and cope with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
