COVID-19 Screening and Care

24/7 “HERO Hotline” is Here for First Responders During COVID-19 Pandemic.


First Responders have access to Video and Telephonic Visits for COVID-19 Symptoms and Treatment.
Kelsey-Seybold’s 24/7 first- responder hotline is designed to expedite medical advice, direction, and access to testing, as well as ongoing care related to a COVID-19 diagnosis.

Who: 
First Responders include police, firefighters, EMT’s, paramedics, dispatchers, peace officers, and healthcare workers. At the request of local officials, Kelsey-Seybold has expanded the HERO Hotline to employees of Public Works, Solid Waste, Houston Airports, Parks and Recreation, and Health Departments.

The hotline is available to both current Kelsey-Seybold First Responder patients and First Responders that have not previously seen a Kelsey-Seybold provider.
 
How it Works: 
The Hotline has been developed to streamline screening and care for First Responder experiencing COVID-19-related symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath), respiratory issues, or exposure to a known positive COVID-19 person. 

First Responders can call 713-442-HERO (4376) 24-hours a day.  Staffed by trained operators with access to nurses and physicians, first responders will have a Virtual Visit with a trained provider who will determine if testing is medically appropriate based on your symptoms.  Any COVID-19 testing needed will be coordinated by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

Cost: 
COVID-19 Virtual Visits are $0 to First Responders covered by all health plans accepted by Kelsey-Seybold (covers COVID-19 screening and test if needed). Please refer to your employer’s health benefits plan for what is covered if follow up or ongoing treatments related to a COVID-19 diagnosis are needed.

    Trained Kelsey-Seybold Triage Nurses are also available via the HERO Hotline after-hours, weekends, and holidays. They can page our physicians to assist if needed and direct you to the appropriate care based on your medical symptoms. 
  • Video Visits and Telephonic Visits:
    7 Days a Week: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.  to 4 p.m. on weekends.  
Accessing Video Visits: 
Video Visits are accessed online through MyKelseyOnline. Our HERO Hotline team can schedule your visit (Video or Telephonic) and will enroll anyone that does not have a MyKelseyOnline account.  You can get a Video Visit on your Smartphone, iPhone, laptop and tablet.
