Simona Rasquinha, MD, is a triple-board-certified Family Medicine physician who attended Windsor University School of Medicine, St. Kitts, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2016. From there, she went to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, completing her internship and Family Medicine residency in 2020. Dr. Rasquinha also completed a fellowship in addiction medicine at East Tennessee State University in 2021. She joined Kelsey-Seybold in March 2025.
Dr. Rasquinha chose to become a physician because she wanted a career that is both intellectually stimulating and personally fulfilling. As a physician who has a strong passion to help patients detect diseases early and improve health outcomes, Dr. Rasquinha focuses on providing compassionate, patient-centered primary care. This includes preventative care such as immunizations and screening examinations, as well as treatment of acute conditions and management of chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and COPD. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and obesity medicine. Dr. Rasquinha’s favorite aspect of practicing medicine is the relationships she builds with her patients.
With effective communication at the core of her approach to patient care, Dr. Rasquinha builds trust with patients by carefully listening to their concerns and always engaging in shared decision making. She strives to provide a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their health concerns.

Hobbies and Interests
Away from Kelsey-Seybold, Dr. Rasquinha enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures with her family. She also enjoys enjoy art — painting, in particular.

“Increasing Naloxone Distribution in a Community with High Rates of Opioid Overdose”
Clinical Research Assistant, Clinical Trial Network, Houston, TX 07/2015-08/2015.
Phase 2, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Repatha in combination with metformin in subjects with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Assigned by Principal Investigator to recruit patients specific to the protocol’s inclusion and exclusion criteria for Phase I-IV clinical trials. Obtained informed consent, dispensed drugs, and performed phlebotomy to monitor drug efficacy/side effects.
