In 1986, Dr. Baker graduated from medical school at the University of Iowa. She completed her residency in 1989 at Baylor College of Medicine where she studied Family Medicine.

Dr. Baker is a member of the American Medical Association, the National Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society and the Harris County Academy of Family Physicians. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine, a member of The Women’s Fund and the Tahirih Justice Center.

Hobbies and Interests

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Baker enjoys writing and dancing.​

Certification through NCQA’s national Diabetes Recognition Program comes after a comprehensive, individualized review process to verify a physician’s adherence to national standards of excellence in caring for patients diagnosed with diabetes.

​Dr. Baker has been named a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly magazine multiple times and has been recognized with a prestigious national certification for excellence in diabetes care, awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
