Professional Background

Dr. Mary Dean earned her Bachelor of Science in medical physics at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2010. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 2014. After an intern year at Houston Methodist Hospital, Dr. Dean completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami in 2019. During her residency, she served as chief resident from 2017 to 2018 and participated in a proton therapy externship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2018.

Prior to joining Kelsey-Seybold in October 2020, Dr. Dean cared for patients as a radiation oncologist in private practice in Illinois.

Dr. Dean is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Harris County Medical Society.

Hobbies and Interests

Dr. Dean enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with family.

Fun Facts

The best advice Dr. Dean has ever received is: “Always treat others as you’d want to be treated.”

The most exotic place she has lived in is Florence, Italy, where she lived for a summer while in college. “It’s an amazing place!”

Her guilty pleasure is Sour Patch Kids candy.
